Tuition and Fees 

All charges listed are for the academic year 2007-08 and are subject to change.

Basic Degrees Tuition

Master of Arts and Master of Divinity Programs

All basic degree students pay $996 per credit. If ten credits are taken in the nine-month academic year, the total is $9,960. If, in addition, a summer course (normally, 2 credits) is taken, the total is $11,952.

Students in the three-year Master of Arts in Christian Education/Master of Social Work dual degree program spend the first year in residence at Union-PSCE. During this year, students pay Union-PSCE tuition and fees and are eligible to apply for Union-PSCE financial aid. For the second and third years, students pay tuition (either in-state or out-of-state, depending on legal residence) and fees to VCU, and are eligible to apply for VCU financial aid.

Students in the four-year Master of Divinity/Master of Social Work dual degree program generally spend their first two years at Union-PSCE and pay Union-PSCE tuition and fees. The third and fourth years are generally VCU residency years. During these years, students pay VCU tuition (either in-state or out-of-state, depending on legal residence) and other fees. Tuition is still paid to Union-PSCE for any courses taken on our campus during years three and four.

Advanced Degrees Tuition

 

Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy

$11,024 per year. Ph.D. students in their third year or later pay $1,002 tuition each Fall and Spring term for 1 credit in Dissertation Research and Writing for a total of $2,004 per year.

The Th.M. degree is designed to be completed in one nine-month academic year. Students in this program are charged tuition at the yearly rate listed above. Depending on the number of credits completed, Th.M. students who receive permission to extend their program beyond one year pay a continuation fee of $1,002 for each fall term and each spring term until all degree requirements are completed.

Fees

 

  • Student Activities Fee
    All full-time students will be charged $200 per year. Part-time students, including doctoral level students after the first two years in residence, will be charged $76 per year. ECP and D.Min. students will be charged $13 per course.

  • Late Registration Fee
    This $60 fee applies to registrations received after the date shown on student registration forms.

  • Graduation Fee
    $125 per degree for M.Div., M.A.C.E., M.A.T.S., D.Min., Ed.D. Th.M., and Ph.D. students. The fee for M.Div./M.A.C.E. degree students is $150, reflecting the two degrees earned.

  • Directed Study Fee
    Applicable only if using external faculty.  $100

  • By Pass and Advanced-Standing Examination Fee
    There is a $100 fee for each by-pass and each advanced-standing examination.

  • Dissertation Fee
    Ph.D. students pay this $480 fee in their final year.

  • Other
    For M.A.C.E./M.S.W. students, all fees for the first year of study are payable to Union-PSCE; for the final two years of study, to VCU. For M.Div./M.S.W. students, all fees for the first two years of study are payable to Union-PSCE; for the final two years of study, to VCU.
