Application Checklist for Th.M. and Ph.D. 

Instructions:

  • Our application and other admission forms are only available in PDF format.
  • You must print out the forms, fill them out by hand, and mail them.
  • Please include the application fee with your application form.
  • We have a PDF version of each form available.
  • Each PDF form will open in a separate browser window.
  • Close the window when you are finished.

Master of Theology (Th.M.)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

To apply for the Master of Theology or Doctor of Philosophy programs, complete the following tasks.

  1. Complete the Application form (pdf).

  2. Application fee of $60.00 must be included when mailing the application.

  3. Ordinarily one reference from the applicant’s pastor or denominational official, and three from professors. Use the Reference form (pdf) .

  4. All applicants must have original transcripts showing degrees awarded and the dates of the awards sent from each school they have attended. Use the Transcript form (pdf)

  5. A research paper or recent essay the student considers representative of his or her work in the proposed field of study.

  6. A statement describing your primary goals and preliminary research interests within the broader field of proposed study.
    Ph.D. Applicants Only:  Official scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) taken within the last five years.

  7. For international students:
    Union-PSCE seeks to admit those international students who plan to serve the global church. All applicants from other countries must cover their own living expenses at minimum. They must submit a International Student Certification of Funding form with a bank statement showing available funds from each source of assistance.

    International students who do not speak, write, and read English as their first language are required to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with minimum scores as follows:
    TOEFL — 213 (computer-based test)
    Essay rating — 4.0 (computer-based)
    TOEFL — 79.0-80.0 (internet)
    A letter of endorsement from your denomination.

  8. Deadline to Apply: February 1 (Ph.D.)
    March 31 (Th.M.)
