Union-PSCE is among the most respected theological institutions in the nation. Union Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education were once two separate institutions. The two schools were joined in 1997, combining distinctive approaches to education for ministry. Union-PSCE began its theological education program in Charlotte, NC, in 2002.

There are approximately 390 students at Union-PSCE. The seminary has a full-time faculty of 33 members. These notable scholars include recognized authorities in the areas of biblical studies, theology, Christian education, preaching and worship, biblical languages, Christian and Presbyterian history.

Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education exists to foster Christian ministry as both a sacred vocation and a learned profession.

As a theological institution of the Presbyterian Church (USA), we confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Standing within the Reformed tradition, we weave together distinctive approaches to theological education for pastoral and educational ministries. We educate and equip leaders for congregational life, theological scholarship, and Christian service to the world. We serve as a theological resource to church and society.
