Supervised Ministry by Degree Programs

Supervised  Ministry:

[soo-per-vahyzed min-uh-stree], noun

  1. A required course for M.Div. and M.A.C.E. students that integrates theory/theology with the practice of ministry.

  2. Formative process that provides integrative opportunities for ministerial/educational leadership, skills application, personal growth and identity exploration, and spiritual development.

  3. An approved internship in a congregation, agency, or hospital under the supervision of a mentor/coach.

  4. That point in your education where vocation and call take flight!
Students frequently remark that their supervised ministry internships are among the most important experiences during their time at Union-PSCE.  After taking semesters of classes, students welcome this opportunity to test their wings by experiencing ministry in all its fullness.

Union-PSCE approaches supervised ministry internships holistically. OFEP works with each student to secure an appropriate setting supported by a trained site supervisor, supportive laity, seminary faculty, technology and peers. OFEP takes into account the unique educational/formational needs of each student, working with them to identify learning goals which become the foundation for a successful internship experience!
