Still Time To Register for the Sprunt Lectures
There's still time
to register and make plans to attend the Sprunt Lectures, May 5-7, 2008.
Please complete your registrations as soon as possible. The special arrangements that
several local hotels are offering to Sprunt Lectures attendees will soon expire.

Richard B. Hays, the George Washington Ivey Professor of New Testament at Duke Divinity School, will lecture on "Israel’s Scripture Through the Eyes of the Gospel Writers." Hays will explore how the New Testament evangelists interpreted the scriptures of Ancient Israel. In four lectures, he will provide an overview of the topic and then concentrate on the gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John.
Michael Livingston, immediate past president of the National Council of Churches, and Nora Tubbs Tisdale ('79) Professor of Homiletics at Yale Divinity School will preach at two worship services.
A full schedule of Sprunts activities is available online. All attendees are asked to register.
Alumnae speakers for the Tuesday lunch and banquet are Fairfax F. Fair ('88) pastor of Highland Presbyterian Church in Louisville, KY, and Gay Mothershed ('63), executive presbyter for the Presbytery of West Virginia.
There will be a presentation of a portrait of James Luther Mays ('49), professor emeritus of Hebrew and Old Testament Interpretation, on Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. The portrait unveiling will be held in Watts Chapel.
