Jeannette Early Never Forgot Her Alma Mater
Nearly 70 years since her graduation, aumna makes a vital link between Christian Education and worship.
During Jeannette Early’s student days in Richmond, the Spence Library served as a shared space for students of the seminary and those from Assembly’s Training School.
Now Mrs. Early’s $2.5 million contribution has launched the renovation of the former library into the Allen and Jeannette Early Center for Christian Education and Worship. The building’s new name honors Mrs. Early and her husband, who died in 1979.
The renovation project will be completed in May 2008.
Mrs. Early is a 1937 graduate of the Assembly’s Training School. Now in her nineties, she identified three reasons for her transformational gift: her fond memories of the school; Union-PSCE’s compelling vision for the future; and a sincere thankfulness for God’s blessings in her life.
The gift was the largest contribution the seminary has ever received from an individual.
"This school means so very much to me. It gives me joy to think about students who will study in this building for generations to come. I am very grateful to the Lord who blessed us so much that we could be generous to Union-PSCE."

After years of frugality and common sense investing, the graduates of Union Seminary and the Assembly’s Training School have made a major gift to the renovation of the Allen and Jeannette Early Center for Christian Education and Worship. "It was a thrill to make a large gift to our alma mater! How exciting to see, during our lifetime, the exciting growth happening at Union-PSCE, and to be part of making it happen."
