Katherine Paterson
Children's book author who has written more than 25 books, including 13 novels for young people. She is two-time winner of both Newbery Medal and the National Book Award.
A graduate of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education, she also holds degree from King College and Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Ms. Paterson received the 1998 Hans Christian Anderson Author Award, the most distinguished international award for children's literature. Two of her novels, Bridge to Terabithia and Jacob Have I Loved, have received Newbery Medals. The Master Puppeteer and the Great Gilly Hopkins are National Book Award Winners. Her books have been published in 25 languages.
