MISSION STATEMENT
The Carl Howie Center for Science, Art, and Theology exists to provide a hospitable setting for conversation among the three disciplines. These conversations will respond to and seek to meet the following challenges.
- Challenge I:
Provide occasions for scientists and artists to encounter and respond to creative, traditional, and contemporary expressions of Christian thought.
- Challenge II:
Sponsor programs, presentations and publications by which church leaders and Christian theologians recognize and engage the insights and implications of science and art for theological expression and human behavior.
- Challenge III:
Encourage open dialogue, which translates and interprets the findings of science and expressions of art for Christian understanding and response.
